These Boots Are Made For Marching.

Ladies, gear up!  Although the military trend was introduced to us way back in twenty-ten, it looks like we're still in the combat zone, this time... we're suited up in the perfect combat boots!
Look at that starting lineup!

Sometimes when there are so many styles and options of a trend it's tricky to find exactly what piece is right for you! (The perfect striped tee, the perfect boyfriend blazer, the perfect heels, the perfect LBD??) And since we cant always get them all, I'm here to give you a hand with choosing the perfect combat boot for twenty-eleven!
If you seek COMFORT:
Comfort seekers can never go wrong with a good flat shoe. Lucky for you, the combat boot practically caters to function and comfort. For the perfect combat boot, look for flat soles and practical details! The Steve Madden's 'Blizardd' Boot.  featuers cozy shearling, while the canvasZigi Girl 'Onsite' Boot is a simple no-fuss take on the utilitarian look. For a taller boot, OTBT 'Astoria' Boot is a wonderful option, combining comfort with a bit of a statement. And what could be more practical or comfortable than a real combat-hiking boot, like the Frye 'Archie' Hiker Boot, a darling pair of kicks that can take you from school to the streets to the clear air of a mountain trail!

If you like GLAMOUR:
Now, just because your taking on a generally tough persona in your utilitarian kicks, doesn't mean you can't add a little feminine touch! The Jeffery Campell 'All-Ruffle' Ankle Boot is a delightful marriage between rough and tumble combat boots and luscious ruffles! And of course, nothing is more glam than a 5 inch heel! Trouve 'Focus' Bootie is the most glamorous combat wedge I've ever seen! If your still looking to make a statement, look no further than Dr. Martens 'Johari 12 Tie Eyelet Zip' Boot! You can't go wrong with Dr. Martens and this pair is edgy and feminine as big bold eyelets are complimented with wonderful ribbon laces! Last but not least, if your going for the ultimate glamorous boot, Seychelles 'Romance' Bootie in Mushroom will give you quite the sassy step as you march away!

If you are CLASSIC:
Now of course, we can't overlook those who wish only to stay true to the roots of the military boot! The Steve Madden 'Troopa' BootBP. 'Hiker' BootDiba 'Miss You' Boot, and Steve Madden 'Cameroon' Boot offer classic details like lots of laces, chunky soles, canvas & leather exteriors, and heavy duty buckles! You'll look like a genuine trooper when you pair a pair of these with your favorite skinny jeans and wooly socks!

If you are OUTSTANDING:
Last but not least, these boots have been awarded with outstanding details that are sure to make statements! Firstly, the Steve Madden "Perrin" Boot is a fine pair of kicks, with layers and layers of skinny laces and an awesome red zipper up the side! Next up, the Donald J Pliner 'Gayora' Boot features distressed suede and a perfect chunky heel, in none other than a fearless shade of maroon. Steve Madden "Hoood" Boot makes it's statement in 'bone' toned suede, and is all wrapped up in bold leather buckles! And lastly, the adventurous teal laces on the Frye 'Rogan' Hiking Boot are sure to make anyone stop and salut the boot!
Hope this helped you (or at least inspired you) to find the perfect combat boot! I still can't decide just which one I love the most. I think I love them all!

Cheers to the New Year!

Oh dear, 2010 is coming to an end and I must say, this year has passed rather quickly!! To bid farewell to twenty-ten and kiss twenty-eleven hello, I've compiled some of my favorite trends of the year, and what I'm looking forward to in the new year!!
Firstly, 2010 in review...
We fell in love with the military trend, and couldn't get enough of stripes stripes stripes! The fashion world was blown away with Louis Vuitton's incredibly elegant Fall Ready to Wear collection and welcomed the return of elegance and minimalism! The boyfriend trend stood strong as the girls borrowed blazers, loafers, button-ups, jeans, and tee's from their masculine counterparts, while still staying feminine! Our very own BP kept twenty-ten well dressed with lace, chiffon, florals, a perfect cargo pant, and of course, the ultimate cami!
 As for 2011...
It seems wider-leg jeans and flat flat shoes are in the forecast, however...

We'll see where the runway takes us!

Happy New Years!

Maxed Out

As I've realized over my years, when I love something, I really really love something. Whether its a beautiful piece of clothing or an entire trend, I just can't get enough of it. Obsessive? Maybe. But right now I'm absolutely in love with long maxi skirts and dresses, in swooshy chiffons, luscious ruffles, laces, and cozy knits! I supposed you could call it obsessed. :)
Practically any D&G collection presents an array of perfected dresses and skirts (my favorites being Spring 2011Spring 2010Fall 2008, and of course, Fall 2010.) Sonia Rykiel's Spring 2008 RTW collection is full of gorgeous summery, feathery delights, while Erin Fetherston's Spring 2007 RTW collection captures the perfect, loose and relaxed ball-gown essence of the maxi look.
Some lengthy inspiration....

I love the combo of tees and skirts, a perfect mix of feminine and cool...

This beautiful Free People Sheer Maxi Slip is just the thing! Layer it with a sweater, blazer, or even a perfect boyfriend tee, with sky high heels for an incredible leg-lengthening look!
Christmas is in just three days! Hooray!

Winter + Sweaters

Hip Hip Hooray, It's Christmas Break!
I'm finally out of school for the holidays and I am feeling oh-so-festive! There hasn't been much snow this month so we're all hoping the forecasts of snowfall come true this week and bring us all some real holiday spirit. In the mean time, I've been getting my share of winter inspiration from the runway...
D&G captured the absolute essence of winter dressing and my obsession right now, the fair isle.

Let's just kick things off with the most gorgeous holiday red!
I am in love with the look on the right. Oh dear, well I'm in love with the entire collection!

I don't know about you, but I would love to romp around in these
winterized play-suits and fur boots all break long!

Time to admire the impeccable usage of fair-isle patterns on cocktail
dresses and pretty little sheer numbers.

yes, and then there are the chiffon dresses.

ooh la la! chunky knits and chiffon, surely a match made in winter wonderland heaven!
I simply die over the short-sleeved fair isle and long flowy skirt combo.
Not to mention the skinny belts and big fur boots!! It's too much for a sweater-adoring girl to handle!

I hope you all have sweet sweater dreams this weekend and a wonderful holiday season!
