Take Two: The Sailor Stripe

Its the same stripe we all know and love, but sometimes the navy, black, and red horizontal sailor stripes can get a little monotonous. Here are some ways to change up the good old stripe and refresh it for the coming summer break! {t-minus 3 days!}
Try a bright new color, like yellow, in a cool assymetrical buttoned tank!
This h.i.p. Button Detail Tank is perfect, and the scrubby painted on look of the stripes is a cool touch!

Shake up the horizontal stripe by trying out a cool diagonal stripe, double diagonals create a perfect new pattern for summer!
The h.i.p. Stripe Assymetrical Top and 'Seashell' Convertible Top are great examples of this look!

Sometimes less is more, so try a bold colorful striped ruffle as an accent for the perfect dose!
The Roxy Crop Halter Camisole is darling and I love the detail in the straps!

Or, if you're really growing tiresome of stripes all together, a cool new alternative this summer is...
plaid!
And I absolutley adore this Rubbish Roll Sleeve Plaid Shirt! The relaxed cut is perfect for hot summer days and super patriotic for July the 4th!
How are you giving your classic stripes a new spin for summer!?

In Need of a New Skinny

So, I've had my favorite pair of !iT 'Rising Starlet' Skinny Jeans for about... two years?
Because they are my favorite pair of skinny jeans I have every owned, and they are the perfect fit.
I was devastated to learn that BP no longer carries my most treasured pair of skinnies, because I kind of need a new pair due to the fading that two years of use causes.
So I'm on the search for another perfect pair. So far, my options are...

what I like: the wash.

what I like: closest to my old pair.
What do you think is the best replacement pair?
What is your favorite pair of jeans?

Power to the Flower

As we all know, I adore florals. But its fun to mix them up every once in a while to put a new spin on the classic feminine flower!  One of my favorite floral picks right now are punky, toughened, floral jewelry. Pewter chain and studs can toughen up any easy breezy flower, and here is how...!
To turn any floral necklace you have, like this Juicy Couture 'Flower Punk Couture' Cluster Pendant Necklace, into a punked-out masterpiece just string snippets of chain from old necklaces {i know we all have a few we don't use much anymore} to cluster around the flowers!

Or, soften a harsher necklace, like this Cara Faux Pearl Layer Necklace, by pinning a big flower brooch to the side, or sprinkling little faux blossoms {on clips or glued}  throughout the layers of pearls!

For more of this look, the Cara Rosebud Necklace and Juicy Couture 'Flower Punk' Necklace are some of my faves!
Have fun toughening up your florals!

Metallic & Bright, What a Delight!

When it comes to summer shoes, all I want is a basic flip flop, an easy pair of sneakers, and a pair of metallic and bright sandals or flats, for special occasions, such as weddings, dinners, dates, or graduations! Here are some good old silver and gold shoes, perfect for summer, and cute enough for the occasional occasion...

Have fun summer shoe shopping! {xo} Rosie

A Good Ruffle

I loved the new BP TV video on mixing summer looks! My favorite piece was the Lush Flutter Sleeve Tee,

Because who can resist a good ruffle?
