designer dreams.

Though I'll probably never bring myself to buy a $1000 dress in my young adult life, I thought it would still be fun to browse Nordstrom's Designer Collections. A healthy dose of designer window shopping never did anyone any harm! And I l-o-v-e-d some of the summer silhouettes and pieces I saw! So, just for fun, I'll share with you my favorite designer pieces that I can only dream about as of now...
Missoni's got some funky little bright knit minis that remind me of the funny '60s and '70s french songs I've been listening too (this is a good one, as is this song).

As does Marc Jacobs, though not quite so mini, I do love me a mid-calf hem every now and then! This particular dress reminds me of a funny vintage dress I got for Christmas (it's green and orange though :) I should share sometime!)

Next up... I'm really loving all the red dresses as presented to us by Alice + Olivia, Lanvin, and who other than Valentino.

and... speaking of Valentino. These tee's?? I'm in love with any giant bow, in case you've yet to notice, but especially on a Valentino crafted t-shirt!

flower. power.

I think it's safe to say that I'm a Teen Vogue and/or Vogue reader. I literally have full years worth of archive issues in my room (I think I'm hoping they'll become antiques someday) :) So, In the March issue of Teen Vogue, I was happy to find some pretty pictures that made me want to go full spring ahead and ultra girly. (These posts will be a two-day thing, lucky you!)
The First... MIXED FLORALS

I think it's also safe to say, that I am pretty feminine in my fashion choices, so of course I went over the moon for this look. (Maybe not so much the hair, but pretty much everything else.) The wedges, the socks and of course the parade of florals that while being totally girly and crazy, still completely works!
To recreate this look (a slightly toned down version, if you please) mix this darling pair of Free People Printed Woven Shorts with the Lush Sleeveless Chiffon Blouse. And, in case an entire floral ensemble is too risky, pair your florals with a soft striped cardi for balance but still some fun pattern. I liked this Frenchi Open-Front Cardigan.

And we couldn't forget those serious wedges and socks! I actually kind of love these Dolce Vita 'Jade' Wedges

get the skinny on flares.

Wide legs jeans have found their way back into our hearts this season, but honestly, what's there not to love about a huge break from the skinny jeans we've been squeezing into for years now? I do love my skinnies, but I think we're all ready for a change. Lucky for us, flare and boot cuts are becoming more readily available!

I'm totally into the idea of flare jeans, especially ones with a higher waist.
a) they make your legs look amazingly long
b) they make for a way more interesting t-shirt & jeans combo
c) they're just awesome.

But, what would you pair with such a cut?

Lucky You!

With the time change in full swing and warm morning walks to the bus stop, I feel like I can finally allow myself to grasp onto spring full force! While perusing the pages of Lucky magazine (I was drawn in by style icon Zooey Deschanel's cute Marc Jacobs cover...) I stumbled upon the most delightful editorial, titled The Good Life. It's the all about vibrant colors, lush fabrics, and sweet indulgences style that made me even more impatient for spring to really show itself. However, the most inspiring picture of all was this...

Bold colors, feminine pleats, and Miss Dior Cherie all topped off with pink roses!? What's not to love?
To recreate this awe inspiring spring look, I would pair this Lush 'Crystal' Pleat dress with a splash of color in the form of this 'zinnia' colored Hobo INternational 'Davina' Crossbody. Last but not least, top it all off with a darling headband (I love the chartreuse and black stripe combo) and of course, the perfume! (roses optional but preferred!)

What are you dying over this spring??

PS: I can't get over this dress. I might just have to buy it for no prom at all, just for fun.

more Dior, please!

It's seems rather inconceivable to be looking at fall fashion when over here, Spring has yet to spring. However, Dior has wowed me into sharing their Fall 2011 runway with you.
The shapes and textures made for swoon worthy concoctions, while perfectly finger-waved hair made them even more enviable!

and those SHORTS!
But really, what's going to happen without Galliano!?

bows bows bows

So, I hopped on Nordstrom.com and what did I see?
Oh just a big lovely greeting of bow-topped pumps!
(and free shipping!?)
As you know, Nordstrom is launching tons of Prom goodies this year, and what better accesory to sweeten up any look than a bow adorned heel?
The DV by Dolce Vita 'Briar' Pumps are the sweetest things in a shiny nude patent! (leg elongating indeed!)

Nothing beats these Enzo Angiolinin 'Martini' Pumps! That color, that bow! The best I've seen yet!!

But of course, you can't go wrong with the classic toe-bow. Jeffery Campbell 'Situation' Pumps are just the perfect thing!

Oh, and if pumps just aren't your thing, there's plenty of swoon worthy oxfords going on over at BP too.
Oxfords galore! Right here Right now!!
